It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Ronald David Johnson, a cherished father, brother, uncle, and friend. Ronald, affectionately known as "Ronnie," passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on October 7, 1969, in Lafayette, Indiana, Ronnie was the beloved son of the late James and Rosalee Johnson. Ronnie was predeceased by his loving wife, Connie Johnson; his cherished son, Dustin Johnson; his devoted parents, James and Rosalee; and his brother, Bryan Johnson. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will forever be a source of warmth and inspiration. Left to honor and celebrate Ronnie’s legacy is his beloved daughter, Emily Johnson of Minnesota, who was the light of his life and his constant source of pride and joy. Her strength and kindness reflect the values Ronnie cherished so deeply. His sister, Amy DeRosa of Colorado, and sisters Connie Johnson and Beverly Million, both of Lafayette, were his lifelong confidantes and supporters. Ronnie is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who fondly remember him as the fun-loving and caring uncle who always had a smile to share and a story to tell. Ronnie was a man of simple pleasures. He had an unwavering passion for football, with the Dallas Cowboys holding a special place in his heart. Sundays were often dedicated to cheering for his favorite team, surrounded by the camaraderie of friends and family. He found joy in traveling, exploring new places, and creating memories that he would fondly recount to his loved ones. Despite life’s challenges, Ronnie’s greatest happiness came from the time spent with his daughter, Emily. Their shared adventures and quiet moments together were the treasures of his life. His love for her was boundless, and he found immense joy in watching her grow, supporting her, and sharing in her achievements. To his family and friends, Ronnie will be remembered as a man of integrity, humor, and unwavering love. He was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. His laughter could light up a room, and his spirit will continue to illuminate the lives of those he touched. As we say goodbye to Ronnie, we hold close the memories of his gentle soul and the love he shared with so many. His family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In Ronnie’s memory, they encourage everyone to cherish their loved ones and to live with the same kindness and joy that he exemplified. "Ronnie will be forever missed and in our hearts always," expresses his family, who invite all those who knew him to remember the joy he brought into their lives.
