In Loving Memory

Ronald Anthony Cheslock
March 11, 1939 — May 31, 2026
It is with profound sadness yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Cheslock Sr. on May 31, 2026, at the age of 87. Ron left this world surrounded by love at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, marking the end of a remarkable journey that began in Rossdale, Manitoba on March 11, 1939.
Ron was the cherished and devoted husband of Sylvia, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family and a legacy that will continue to thrive in the loving memories of their children: Ron Cheslock Jr. and his wife Kathryn Dale (nee Rumball), Amanda Matinnia (nee Cheslock) and her husband Norm, and Randy Cheslock and his wife Sonya (nee Griffin). Ron's legacy is further carried on by his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Rhonda, whose memory he held dear in his heart.
A man of simple pleasures, Ron found joy and solace in the great outdoors, whether it was casting a fishing line into a still lake or tending to his garden with the care and dedication of a true nurturer. His love for these pastimes reflected his deep appreciation for nature's beauty and tranquility.
The Cheslock family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Ron's final days.
A service to honor and celebrate Ron's life will be held on June 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. James Church, located at 6025 Old Church Road, Caledon East, ON L7C 1H8. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather in tribute to a man who touched many lives with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ron's memory to a charity of your choice, as a way to continue his legacy of generosity and caring.
Ron Cheslock Sr. will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but he leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with love, laughter, and the enduring spirit of a life well-lived.
