Born on June 18, 1932, in the quaint town of Fond a Loc, Ronald was the beloved son of Mini and John Betts. He carried the values instilled by his parents throughout his life, imbuing in him a steadfast work ethic and an unwavering commitment to family. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, his devoted first wife, Judith Betts, and his beloved son, Bob Betts. Despite these profound losses, Ronald's resilient spirit shone brightly, lighting the path for those he left behind. Ronald found love again with his second wife, Deborah Betts, who survives him. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship, and they shared many joyous years together. Their home was a sanctuary of laughter and love, always open to family and friends. A dedicated worker, Ronald retired from John Deere in 1980, after which he embarked on a new journey in woodworking—an art form that not only fulfilled him but also brought beauty into the lives of many. His love for woodworking was only rivaled by his passion for family, with whom he spent countless cherished moments. Ronald's legacy extends beyond his immediate family. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. Ronald was a guiding light, offering wisdom, love, and encouragement to his descendants, ensuring that his values and stories would be carried forward for generations. The family invites all who knew and loved Ronald to a service celebrating his life on May 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Church.
