Ronald Baron

Ronald Baron, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully left this world on September 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 20, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ron was a man of profound character and integrity, deeply cherished by all who knew him. Ron was the treasured son of William and Rosella Baron, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara (Fernandez) Baron, and his son, Kalai Baron. Ron and Barbara shared a beautiful life, marrying on August 12, 1956, in Hawaii, and later solemnizing their union in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity—a testament to their enduring love and commitment. A proud veteran, Ron dedicated his life to service. He served active duty in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and continued his military career as a Green Beret, eventually achieving the rank of Sergeant Major of the Army with the 19th Special Forces in Salt Lake City. His dedication to his country and his comrades was unwavering, and he cherished the camaraderie and friendships formed through his military service. Ron was also an accomplished martial artist, earning a 5th-degree black belt in the American Kenpo Karate Association. His passion for martial arts extended beyond personal achievement; he found great joy in coaching and mentoring others, leaving a legacy of strength and discipline in the art of Kenpo. His commitment to his faith was evident in his active participation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he found solace and community. Ron's warmth and kindness were felt by all who met him; he was always smiling and welcoming, a true friend who prioritized the welfare of others. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with family and friends, listening to Hawaiian music, enjoying the great outdoors, and engaging in his hobbies of shooting vintage weaponry and fishing. Ron had a special fondness for dogs, who were his loyal companions throughout his life. Ron is survived by his loving children, Ronald Baron Junior, Kekona Baron, and Lani Collard, as well as his legacy of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values and love he instilled in them. A celebration of Ron's life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 484 S Main Street, Star, ID 83669. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ron’s memory. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Ron's close military veteran friends for their unwavering companionship and the group meetings and activities that brought Ron so much joy. Ron's legacy of love, service, and kindness will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
