January 4, 1947 — March 9, 2026

It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Ron Bell, a cherished soul whose life was a testament to love, service, and unwavering dedication to family and community. Ron departed this world peacefully on March 9, 2026, in hospice care, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 79 years old. Born on January 4, 1947, in the welcoming embrace of Bay County, Michigan, Ron was the beloved son of Ed and Grace Bell. From an early age, Ron exhibited a zest for life and an innate kindness that would become his hallmark. He grew up alongside his sister, Beatrice, and, though his infant siblings Donald and Gene were taken far too soon, their presence was cherished within the family's heart. Ron was a proud graduate of Bay City Central High School, class of 1965, where he began to lay the foundations of a life marked by hard work and dedication. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served until his honorable discharge in 1972. His time in the service was a source of immense pride, and he carried the values of duty and honor throughout his life. In 1974, Ron's life was forever brightened when he wed Janette, his beloved partner and confidante for 48 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Ron's devotion to Janette was unwavering, providing a remarkable example of partnership and love. For over three decades, Ron dedicated his professional career to Michigan Bell as a skilled telecommunications technician. His commitment to excellence was evident in every task, and he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. In his leisure time, Ron found solace and joy in the nurturing embrace of his garden. With the companionship of his loyal German Shepherd, Sachmo, Ron cultivated not just plants, but a sanctuary of peace and beauty. His garden was a testament to his nurturing spirit and his appreciation for the simple, profound joys of life. A man of integrity and warmth, Ron was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and the boundless love he bestowed upon them was returned in kind. Ron's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the profound impact of a life well-lived. Ron is predeceased by his parents, Ed and Grace, his sister Beatrice, and his infant siblings, Donald and Gene. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Janette, who will forever cherish the memories of their life together. A private ceremony will be held to honor Ron's life, in accordance with his family's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity close to Ron's heart, as a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much of himself to others. Ron Bell's spirit will forever be a guiding light for those who were fortunate to know him. May his memory be a blessing and his soul find eternal peace.
