In Loving Memory

Roman Carpenter Jr
September 19, 1988 — July 11, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Roman Carpenter Jr, a cherished father, brother, and friend, who left us far too soon on July 11, 2026. Roman was born on September 19, 1988, in the warm embrace of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to his loving mother, Thyra Worthy, and his late stepfather, Jeffrey Worthy.
Roman's life was a testament to the power of love, generosity, and resilience. A proud graduate of Lakewood High School in 2005, Roman was known far and wide for his genuine heart and his unparalleled devotion to his beloved daughter, Jaaloni Carpenter. Roman's kindness knew no bounds; he was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, ensuring that everyone around him was cared for, even when he had little himself. His selflessness and warmth left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his daughter, Roman is survived by his cherished sister, Sara Worthy, his stepsister, Angel Edwards, his brother, Isaiah Worthy, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold his memory close. Roman was predeceased by his stepfather, Jeffrey Worthy, his sister, Jordan Worthy, and his maternal grandmother, Maryann Carpenter, with whom he is now reunited.
Roman's family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life at a service to be held on July 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Lighthouse, located at 1130 E County Line Rd, Lakewood, NJ 08701. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a charity of your choice, a gesture that honors Roman's generous spirit.
As we gather to remember Roman, we are reminded of the special message his family wishes to share: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart." Roman Carpenter Jr. lived in a way that touched the hearts of many, and his legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire us all.
Rest in peace, dear Roman. You will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
