Rolando Davila

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rolando Davila, who left this world on June 10, 2026, peacefully at home in Premont, Texas, after a courageous battle with lymphoma cancer. Born on April 23, 1961, in the small town of Premont, Tx. Rolando's life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion. Rolando was the beloved son of the late Alfonso Sr. and Juanita Davila, and he was predeceased by his cherished father-in-law, Isabel Castillo, as well as several dear aunts and uncles. His legacy of warmth and kindness lives on through his devoted wife, Christina Davila, with whom he celebrated 43 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising three wonderful children: Andrew Davila of Premont, Texas; Andrea Torres and her husband Marty of Midland, Texas; and Adrianna Davila and her partner Joe Michael of Premont, Texas. A dedicated family man, Rolando was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, four grandsons, and four granddaughters, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Alfonso Jr. and Pablo Davila, both of Premont, Texas, as well as five nephews and two nieces who held a special place in his heart. Rolando spent over 25 years as a bus driver for the Premont Independent School District and Texas Rural Students Transportation, where he was fondly remembered by countless students and colleagues for his kindness and diligence. Prior to that, he spent a decade as a truck driver in Alice, Texas, showcasing his steadfast work ethic. A man of many talents, Rolando was known as the "jack of all trades," capable of fixing anything and everything. His resourcefulness and problem-solving skills were unmatched. Beyond his practical abilities, Rolando had a deep spiritual side, finding solace in reading the Bible and sharing its teachings. His unwavering faith shine through in his constant reminder to others: "Jesus Loves You." Rolando was renowned for his quick wit, warm smile, and infectious sense of humor. He had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, touching the lives of countless individuals with his kindness and generosity. A celebration of Rolando's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 1:23 PM at Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias, Texas. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated hospital staff in San Antonio, Texas, the compassionate hospice team, and all those who offered prayers, calls, and visits during this difficult time. Rolando Davila's enduring legacy of love, laughter, and faith will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us, reminding us of the profound impact one life can have on the world.
