Rolanda M. Walker, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 22, 2026, at the age of 52, having courageously battled cancer and a series of strokes. Born on August 20, 1973, in Jackson, Tennessee, Rolanda was the cherished daughter of Alfreta Bray-McBride and Jerry D. Lawhorn, who predeceased her. Rolanda's life was marked by her dedication to family, friends, and community. She found great joy in her marriage to Ronald L. Walker, whom she wed on her birthday, August 20, 2008. Together, they created a loving family with their daughter, Javone Walker, and step-daughter, Initia Walker. Rolanda's family was the center of her world, and her warmth extended to her uncles, aunts, and a host of cousins, who will all deeply miss her vibrant presence. Educated within the Jackson Madison County School system, Rolanda graduated from Jackson Central Merry High School in 1991. She pursued a meaningful career in the medical field, working as a register/referral coordinator at prominent clinics such as the Jackson Clinic and UT Clinic. Her professionalism and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. Rolanda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. As an active member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Humboldt, TN, she shared her love for music by singing in the choir, becoming best known for her heartfelt rendition of "Order My Steps." In 2015, she continued her spiritual journey by joining the New Vision Life Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN, where she contributed her time and talents to the New Member's Orientation department. A woman of many interests, Rolanda delighted in listening to various types of music, nurturing her plants, cooking, and meeting new people. Her outgoing personality and genuine kindness allowed her to form lasting friendships wherever she went. Rolanda was also an avid movie enthusiast, finding comfort and joy in the stories that unfolded on the screen. A celebration of Rolanda's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, located at 202 Leslie Scruggs Road, Humboldt, TN 38343. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Rolanda's spirit of giving and compassion. The Walker family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered kind words, expressions of love, and prayers during this difficult time.
