It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roland Chandler, who left us on June 28, 2026, at the age of 68 after a brave battle with illness. Born on July 19, 1957, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Roland was a beloved husband, father, and friend, who touched the lives of many with his warmth and humor. Roland was the cherished son of the late William E. Chandler and Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his dear sister Carolyn Chandler, brother David Chandler, his devoted stepfather Grover Blanchard, and his beloved godson Deante Pittman. Despite the sorrow of their absence, Roland carried their memory with grace and strength, demonstrating resilience and a profound appreciation for life. Roland is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Melody, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. Together, they built a large and loving family, blessed with 16 children: Teretha (Nathaniel), Roland, Michael, Shayla, Toya, Syretta (Jessica), Danetta, Joseph, Jaime, William, Brian, Andre, Ashley, Stasha, Brenda, Jeremiah, and the memory of their son Travis who predeceased him. His legacy continues through the lives of his children, each a testament to his love and dedication as a father. Roland attended Tech Memorial High School and held various roles throughout his career, working at KFC, Harrington Laundry, a car wash, and providing a personal Uber service. Through these positions, he connected with countless individuals, leaving behind stories and friendships that will be fondly remembered. A die-hard Steelers fan, Roland found joy in cheering on his favorite team, a passion he shared with friends and family alike. He also loved to fish, finding peace and tranquility in the simple pleasure of casting a line and enjoying nature's beauty. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roland's life on July 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pitts Funeral Home, located at 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA. It will be a day to remember the joy Roland brought into the world, his unwavering spirit, and the love he shared with everyone around him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Roland's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring his generous spirit and love for his community. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we hold on to the memories he created with each of us. Roland Chandler's legacy endures in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will forever be missed but never forgotten.
