With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Roger Wayne Tague, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on June 19, 2026, at the age of 66. Roger left us peacefully in the comfort of his own home, a place filled with the warmth and memories that he cherished. Born on August 31, 1959, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Roger was welcomed into the world by his loving parents, Harold and Margaret Tague, who instilled in him the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion. Roger’s life was one well-lived, marked by dedication and a spirit of service to others. Roger answered the call of duty by serving in the United States Army, where he worked as a tank mechanic, proudly stationed overseas in Germany. His commitment to his country was a testament to his strong sense of duty and determination. After his military service, Roger found his professional calling as a line worker at ConAgra Foods in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Known affectionately as "Cowboy" by his colleagues, Roger was admired for his work ethic and camaraderie. His time at ConAgra was not just a career but a second family who appreciated his loyalty and vibrant spirit. A man of many passions, Roger was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy in the simplicity of the great outdoors. His love for fishing was matched only by his penchant for collecting—an eclectic array of treasures that spoke to his curious and adventurous nature. As an amazing mechanic, Roger’s hands were always willing to help, especially when it came to family. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Margaret Tague, and his siblings Glenda, Patricia, Gloria, Jeffrey, and Philip Tague, as well as his great-nephew, Brandon Tague. Their memories lived on in his stories and spirit, and now they welcome him with open arms. He is survived by his loving siblings, Harold Tague Jr., James Tague, and Brenda Serrano, who will forever hold his memory close. Roger’s legacy continues through his cherished nieces and nephews: Sara, Kenny, Erica, Alex, and Thomas Tague. His great-nieces and nephews—Devon Tague and his wife, Donavon Richardson, Malakhi Parish, Winter Parish, and Patrick Parish—will always remember their Uncle Roger as a guiding light and source of unending support. Known for his willingness to assist anyone in need, especially his family, Roger embodied the spirit of generosity and love. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a balm, and his kindness a gift to all who knew him. The family is devastated at the loss of Roger, a brother, an uncle, and a treasured friend. His sudden departure has left an indelible void in our hearts. We find solace in the memories we shared and the love he bestowed upon us, and we are grateful for the time we had with him. Roger will be missed greatly and remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched. As we gather to celebrate Roger's life, let us cherish the moments and the memories, and let his legacy of love and service inspire us all to live with the same kindness and dedication he so effortlessly shared. Rest in peace, dear Roger. Your journey on Earth may have ended, but your spirit will forever guide us.
