In Loving Memory

Roger smith aka O.G.
February 11, 1969 — April 15, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of Roger "O.G." Smith, a hero whose legacy will forever be enshrined in the hearts of those he saved and the family he cherished. Roger departed this life on April 15, 2026, at the age of 57, in a courageous act of heroism in Rohnert Park, California. Born on February 11, 1969, in Santa Rosa, California, Roger's life was a testament to bravery, love, and resilience.
Roger's life was marked by moments of valor and commitment. A decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. While he seldom spoke of his time in the military, his actions spoke volumes, reflecting a man who was shaped by duty and honor. Despite facing personal challenges, Roger emerged stronger and more determined to make a positive impact on the world around him.
In his professional life, Roger was a master of his craft, renowned as a classic car specialist and custom painter at Maaco Auto Body. His passion for cars, especially Cadillacs, was matched only by his skill as a tattoo artist and his devotion to the Latin Rollers Car Club. He was also deeply connected to his roots, actively participating in Native ceremonies like the Sun Dance, celebrating his heritage with pride.
Roger's personal life was filled with love and devotion, especially to his beloved partner, Diana, whom he affectionately called "Dirty Diana." Their nearly five-year partnership was a testament to his unwavering love and dedication. Roger's love for Diana was known to all; he would go to great lengths to express his affection, often declaring his devotion through graffiti art that proclaimed, "I love my Dirty Diana."
A father to six grown children and a grandfather to six, Roger's family was the cornerstone of his life. Though predeceased by his father, Robert Smith, and his son, Bear Skins Smith, Roger leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that his family will carry forward.
Roger's life was defined by his strong personality and his unyielding spirit. Known for his tough exterior, he was fiercely protective of those he loved. His life was a journey through challenges and triumphs, yet he remained a good person at heart, quick to defend those who needed it.
A memorial service to honor Roger's life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., at Daniel Chapel of the Rosa, located at 1400 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization close to Roger's heart.
As we remember Roger, his family shares a special message: "Don't cry for him yet; it's not over till he says it's over. And if you've got a lowrider, get your ride ready. If you've got a Cadillac, line up the streets, because the O.G. is gonna pull out in his wide-body CT5 to smoke more and baptize you all in rubber burnt to the steel belts."
Roger "O.G." Smith was a man of action, love, and unparalleled courage. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
