Roger Jones
January 1, 1938 — March 30, 2026
With profound sadness and tender hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Roger Jones, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, on March 30, 2026, at the home of his cherished daughter. Born on January 1, 1938, in the vibrant city of Louisville, Kentucky, Roger was the son of James Jones and Georgia Grady. His journey through life spanned 88 meaningful years, during which he touched countless lives with his unwavering dedication and spirited nature.
Roger was a man of integrity and punctuality, a testament to his character that never wavered throughout his life. Known for his impeccable timeliness, Roger was never late — he was always the first to arrive, ready to embrace the day with enthusiasm and vigor.
A proud graduate of Central High School, Roger embarked on his professional journey at Ford's Louisville assembly plant, where he dedicated 34 years of his life as a reliefman. His commitment to his work was not just a job but a testament to the values he held dear. Upon retirement, Roger left behind a legacy of diligence and camaraderie among his colleagues.
Roger's heart found its anchor when he met Beatrice Jones, the love of his life, whom he married on April 10, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful daughters, Karen and Cheryl, who were the pride and joy of their lives. Roger's devotion to his family was unwavering, and he remained a guiding light for them even after Beatrice's passing.
His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, and Roger was a dedicated member of Canaan Christian Church, where he served on the security team with steadfast commitment. Roger's firm beliefs and strong opinions on religion and politics sparked many thoughtful discussions, often leaving those around him with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
Bowling was Roger's passion, and he found immense joy in participating in several leagues throughout his life. The camaraderie and friendly competition brought him great happiness, and he was known for his spirited enthusiasm and sportsmanship on the lanes.
Roger leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by his devoted daughters, Karen Jones and Cheryl Jones, who will carry forward his values and memories. Although he is now reunited with his beloved Beatrice, his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
In honoring Roger's life, we celebrate a man who lived with purpose, loved without reservation, and cherished every moment. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever reside in the hearts of those he touched.
A service to honor Roger's life will be held at Canaan Christian Church, where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the life of a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to a charity of choice in Roger's memory, celebrating his enduring spirit of generosity and kindness.
