It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Roger Hovden, who left us peacefully at home, enveloped by the love of his family and friends, on October 21, 2026. Born on September 4, 1957, in Great Falls, Montana, Roger was a beacon of strength, kindness, and passion throughout his life. Roger was the beloved son of the late Lloyd and Shirley Hovden, and he carried their legacy forward with dignity and grace. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nikki Hovden, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. Their journey began in high school, blossoming into a lifelong partnership solidified on December 4, 1984, in Las Vegas, Nevada and in 1988 they moved from Great Falls to Carson City, Nevada to pursue their hopes and dreams together. A loving father, Roger is deeply missed by his daughters, Stephanie and her husband, Martin, and Lisa. He took immense joy in the presence of his family, especially his cherished grandson, Wren. Roger was also a caring brother to Darla (Sterling) Wade, Darcy Hovden, and Dennis (Trudy) Hovden, sharing countless memories and moments of laughter throughout the years. Roger's career was marked by his dedication and skill as a mechanic and truck driver, and he was also a proud business owner. His passion for his work was only rivaled by his love for pool, a game he played with friends for many years, and his talent in restoring Mopar cars. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Carson Tahoe Hospital and Eden Hospice for their compassionate care during Roger's final days. Their support and kindness will always be remembered. Roger's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will remain in our hearts, serving as a guiding light as we navigate the days ahead.
