His career took him across the globe, where he left lasting impressions in Europe, Scandinavia, and Russia. Deeply engaged in his community, Roger was a historic member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Madison, WI, and an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, WI. His passion for camaraderie was also evident in his involvement with local card-playing clubs in Milwaukee. Roger possessed a deep love for the outdoors, particularly fishing, which he shared enthusiastically with friends and family. A true sports enthusiast, he was a dedicated fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Brewers, and Packers. A lifelong reader, Roger maintained a meticulous log of every book he read, always eager to dive into new stories and ideas. His engagement in local politics and community service, including serving as President of a neighborhood association in Madison, was a testament to his belief in civic responsibility. Known for his quick wit and infectious smile, Roger was a beacon of joy and knowledge, always ready to engage others in thoughtful conversation. His love for laughter was infectious, especially during the holidays when he delighted in sharing his favorite comedic films with loved ones.
