Roger Allen, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and Marine passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Born on January 13, 1960, in New York, Roger was the second son of Danny and Shirley Rainwater Allen. Roger leaves behind brothers Brian Allen, Randy Allen (Amy) & a sister, Karen .
He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Scott Haynie.
Roger’s life was a testament to dedication and service. After graduating from Warrenton High School in 1978, he immediately embarked on a journey with the United States Marine Corps, enlisting on the buddy system with his best friend, Dennis Collins. Roger’s time in the Marines was a source of immense pride, and he often regaled family and friends with stories of his adventures and the camaraderie he experienced.
After his honorable service, Roger spent some time in California before returning to Missouri, where he found his calling as an Air Compressor Service Manager in the St. Louis area. His colleagues and friends knew him as a man who could fix almost anything, earning the affectionate nickname "McGyver" from his wife, Heidi.
In May 2021, after a decade of shared love and companionship, Roger married Heidi Karnes Allen. Together with their blended family, they created a home filled with warmth and joy. Roger is survived by his devoted wife, Heidi; his son, Russell Allen, and daughter-in-law, Tiffany; his stepchildren, Jacob Hall and his fiancé, Makayla, Angelee Geisler and her husband, Matt, and Emilee Haynie and her husband, Mytch. He was a proud grandfather to Roderick and Adrianna Allen, Ben and his wife Kayla, Ashlee, Carter, and Drew Geisler, Melena Casey, and Kaisyn Haynie, and a loving great-grandfather to little Presley. Roger also deeply loved his dog, Baron and his cat, Bingo.
Roger’s life was enriched by his love for his family, his country, and the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and baseball player, often boasting of his speed in running during his Marine days. He enjoyed antiquing with Heidi and building & refinishing furniture. Their home holds many beautiful pieces he refine. His deep affection for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A service to honor Roger's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Columbia 1st Assembly in Columbia, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Welcome Home Inc., an organization close to Roger's heart.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family members who have shown immense love and support to Heidi during this difficult time. Roger Allen's memory will forever be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
