Rodney Turner, a cherished soul, was born on September 4, 1965, in Trenton, New Jersey, and peacefully departed this world on September 16, 2026, at home, surrounded by love. Rodney was the beloved son of the late Thomas Lee Turner Sr. and Dorothy Turner, and he was a devoted brother to his predeceased siblings, Yolanda Turner, Laura Ann Turner-Hooks, and Tinika Jones.
Rodney is survived by his adored daughter, Ashley Turner, and his precious grandson, Ian Black, who brought immense joy and pride into his life. He also leaves behind a loving family, including a host of siblings, who will forever cherish his memory.
Rodney's educational journey took him from Cranbrook High School to Pontiac Central High School, and he later honed his skills at ITT Tech. From the young age of 16, Rodney exhibited an unwavering work ethic that carried him through a dedicated career with RHK Technology, formerly known as Sonic Alert. His steadfast commitment to his work was an inspiration to those around him.
Rodney's life was rich with passion and kindness. He delighted in teaching his grandson the value of hard work, instilling in him the virtues of diligence and responsibility. Rodney also found joy in the thrill of a gamble, never missing a chance to try his luck at the lottery machine.
His generosity knew no bounds; Rodney possessed a rare gift of giving. If someone was in need and Rodney had the means to help, he never hesitated to offer his support. His selflessness and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A celebration of Rodney's life will take place on September 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cobbs Funeral Home, located at 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, MI 48341. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life he led.
