Rodney j Myers
October 2, 1955 — March 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Rodney J. Myers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Rodney departed this world on March 1, 2026, at the age of 70, following a tragic accident that occurred in Greenville, Ohio—his lifelong home.
Born on October 2, 1955, in Greenville, Rodney was the treasured son of the late Rolland J. Myers Jr. and Norma June (Farmer) Kirby. He was predeceased by his parents, his grandparents Rolland J. Myers Sr. and Mary Lands, and his uncles Gary and Keith Myers, whose spirits now warmly welcome him into eternal rest.
Rodney was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Lorraine J. (Marshall) Myers, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and companionship. Rodney and Lorraine united in marriage on November 22, 1982, in Greenville, Ohio, where they built a life rich in love and family.
Rodney's legacy lives on through his five cherished sons, his 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry forward his spirit and values. He was a pillar of strength and guidance, a man whose love and devotion knew no bounds. In his career, Rodney was an avid truck driver for over 50 years, a profession he embarked upon at the age of 19. He found immense joy and freedom in the open road, and his stories and experiences behind the wheel were truly legendary. Beyond his work, Rodney had a passion for his Harley Davidson and the simple pleasures of fishing, pursuits that brought him peace and happiness.
Rodney's life was marked by kindness and humility. Although he believed he might not be missed, his absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and generosity touched many lives, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rodney's memory to a cause close to his heart—suicide prevention. Let us remember Rodney by reaching out and supporting those in need, encouraging everyone to seek help and embrace hope in times of struggle.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Rodney's life and legacy, as per the family's wishes.
The family wishes to convey a special message: Rodney fell victim to deceit at the hands of individuals who took advantage of his kind nature. Despite these challenges, Rodney's heart remained generous and open. We hope his story serves as a reminder to cherish and protect those we love.
Rodney J. Myers, a man of incredible spirit and heart, will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and warmth he so deeply deserves.
