Rodney departed this world peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 8, 1951, in the picturesque town of Corvallis, Oregon, Rodney's journey through life was marked by kindness, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved. Rodney was the cherished father of Lori and George, and a beloved brother to Joseph Donaldson. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he reveled in the role of a doting grandfather to his three adored grandchildren. Rodney's gentle spirit and infectious humor were a constant source of light and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him. An avid fisherman, Rodney never missed opening day, often standing by the water’s edge with a twinkle in his eye, ready to cast his line and enjoy the solace of nature. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his vegetable garden, where he cultivated an abundance of tomatoes each year. Rodney found great joy in sharing his garden’s bounty with neighbors, always eager to extend his kindness and foster a sense of community. Rodney was also a talented woodworker, crafting beautiful furniture pieces that will be cherished by his grandchildren for years to come. Each piece carried a bit of his soul, a testament to his meticulous craftsmanship and the love he poured into his creations. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Rodney had the remarkable ability to lift spirits with his presence. He was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood, and his laughter was a balm that soothed many a weary heart. Rodney had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. In keeping with Rodney’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his memory.
