July 10, 1964 — November 1, 2025

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Rodney Brown, who departed this world on November 1, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on July 10, 1964, in Monroe, Louisiana, Daunte was a beacon of warmth and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rodney was the cherished son of the late Eugene Brown Jr. and Gwindolyn Fields, who predeceased him and now welcome him into a peaceful reunion. He grew up in Monroe, where he developed a lifelong love for basketball, video games, and telling jokes—pastimes that perfectly encapsulated his playful spirit and zest for life. His career as a Big Truck Driver was more than just a job; it was a testament to his hard work and dedication. Behind the wheel, Rodney found freedom and adventure, traits that were mirrored in his personal life. Whether he was riding his motorcycle with the wind in his hair or firing up the BBQ for an afternoon with family and friends, Rodney embraced every moment with passion and enthusiasm. Rodney's charisma and charm were unparalleled. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, he had an incredible ability to light up any room he entered. His words were always well-chosen, offering comfort and wisdom in equal measure. To his family, Rodney was an amazing father and grandfather. His legacy of love and laughter lives on in his children: Nicole Brown, Rodney Lorenzo Brown Jr., Jesse Johnson, Donte Brown, Keenan Brown (Becky Brown), Natava Johnson, Maleik Brown (Melissa Clarke), Saisha Mills-Welchman (Justin Welchman), Ariah Mills-Noble, Andre Brown, Drew Brown, Siblings: Terrell Brown (Hermishia Brown), Dawn Brown, Nici Brown, Troy Brown, Friends: Lisa Brown, Tara Paul, Bobbi Mills, Fred. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his heart. Rodney life was a symphony of joy, his laughter a melody that will echo through the lives of those he touched. He loved watching horror movies, a pastime that brought him and his loved ones many evenings of shared thrills and laughter. Playing Dominos, listening to music, and savoring the companionship of his circle of friends and family were the simple pleasures that enriched his days. A service to celebrate Rodney life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Allen Chapel AME Church, located at 917 W 21st St, Cheyenne, WY 82001. We invite all who knew him to join us in honoring his memory and sharing in the stories and smiles he so generously offered. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to everyone who has shown love and celebrated the life of Rodney "Daunte" Brown. Your kindness and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated. Though Rodney has left this earthly realm, his spirit, laughter, and love remain with us, guiding us through our days until we meet again. Rest in peace, dear Rodney, knowing you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
