In Loving Memory

Rodney "Dan" LeMay
February 7, 1965 — June 10, 2026
In loving memory of Rodney "Dan" LeMay, who departed this world unexpectedly on June 10, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on February 7, 1965, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Dan was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and integrity—attributes he carried with him throughout his life.
Dan was the cherished son of the late Tandy Rodney LeMay and Roselynn Robison LeMay, and the beloved grandson of William Henry and Edna Marymon LeMay, and Vera Hicks and Leo Robison. He has now joined his parents and grandparents in eternal rest.
A devoted partner to Melissa "Missy" Rodriguez, Dan's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. Together, they raised two young men, Ethan LeMay and stepson Ashton LaFerney, who both carry forward Dan's legacy of devotion and a loving family. The strength of their family was built on a foundation of faith and love, always supporting one another through life's challenges and cherishing each day together.
Dan's vibrant spirit is carried on by his siblings, Kimberly LeMay Diagre Bogue (Brett), Jean LeMay Beasley (Brad), Tandy "Ted" LeMay, and Shonda Joan Henderson. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces, Madison Daigre Hays (Mason), Bailey Erynn LeMay, Jaiden Jones, and Tandi "Toot Toot" Rose LeMay. His stepmother, Joni Henderson LeMay, and his aunt, Loraine Lemay Moore (Leroy), along with uncles Pete Robison and Henry Robison (Aunt Sheila), share in the sorrow of his passing. Dan's special cousins, Hank and Melissa Moore, alongside numerous friends and acquaintances, mourn the loss of his warm presence.
Dan was a proud alumnus of Benton High School, Class of 1983, where he excelled on the football field as number 83. His passion for sports was matched only by his dedication to his work. As a locksmith for 35 years, Dan was a respected business owner, first as a franchise owner with Pop A Lock and later as the sole proprietor of A&E Lockout Services. For over two decades, he served his community with diligence and pride, always ready to lend a helping hand.
A true outdoorsman, Dan found joy in the natural world, spending countless days hunting and fishing. Equipped with rifles and fishing poles, he was always prepared to share his love of the outdoors with Ethan, Ashton, and their friends. Dan believed deeply in teaching respect for nature, and his stories of elusive deer and elusive fish will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
Dan's passion extended beyond the woods and waters. He cherished time spent riding dirt bikes with Ethan, savoring the thrill of the ride and the stories shared along the way. His love for cooking and gathering with family was evident in every meal he prepared, turning each dinner into a celebration of love and togetherness.
Though Dan faced challenges with the occasional car repair, he always approached them with a sense of enjoyment, embodying the belief that any task, when shared with loved ones, was an opportunity for connection and laughter. Known for his welcoming nature, Dan never met a stranger, and his home was a place of warmth and hospitality for all.
A service to honor Dan's life will be held on June 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, located at 465 Ederle St, Waskom, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Dan LeMay Memorial Fund at Faith Baptist Church, ensuring his legacy of love and service continues.
Dan will be deeply missed by all who were blessed by his friendship and love. His absence leaves a profound void, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As his family lovingly remembers, "He was never a stranger to anyone or their home."
