Rodger Dale Henry

Rodger Dale Henry, a devoted family man, dedicated serviceman, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at his home in North Carolina on August 10, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on March 1, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, Rodger was the beloved son of the late Sherman and Elizabeth (Wilson) Henry.
A man of immense strength, courage, and integrity, Rodger dedicated 30 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Army. His distinguished military career included service in both the Vietnam War and the Desert Storm War. Rodger's bravery and dedication were recognized with numerous awards, most notably the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Rodger was predeceased by his beloved wife, Judy Dale (Burdin) Henry, as well as three brothers and three sisters, whose memories he cherished deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, carried forward by his devoted daughter, Lily (Robbie) Greene of Smithfield, NC, and his two sons, Jeff Henry and Mark Henry. Rodger is also survived by his sister, Beth (Tommy) King of Drummonds, and his brother, Sherman (Dorothy) Henry of Jackson, TN. His life was further enriched by the love of his four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Rodger's life will be celebrated in a funeral service held on August 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Halls Funeral Home, located at 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN 38040. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Rodger are warmly invited to attend and honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of their choice, reflecting Rodger's lifelong commitment to helping others and making the world a better place.
Rodger Dale Henry will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
