Roberto Rivas, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2026. Born on December 20, 1939, in Bakersfield, CA, Roberto lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication. Roberto was the cherished son of John and Jane Doe. Despite not having the opportunity to attend school, Roberto taught himself to read and write, a testament to his incredible determination and thirst for knowledge. His journey from self-education to becoming a man of many talents is an inspiration to all who knew him. In 1963, Roberto married the love of his life, Dolores Rivas, in a beautiful ceremony in Guadalajara, Mexico. Together, they celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage, raising 10 children and creating a home filled with warmth and joy. Dolores and Roberto's bond was one of unwavering support and shared dreams. Roberto was a man of many passions. He found serenity in his garden, where his nurturing spirit brought life and color to his surroundings. His skilled hands turned wood into art, and he delighted in crafting jewelry for his family, leaving behind treasured keepsakes. Yet, it was his journal that held the stories of his heart, as he documented his life's journey with words full of wisdom and wit. Known for his remarkable sense of humor, Roberto had the rare ability to bring joy to all those around him. His jokes and infectious laughter brought light to even the darkest days, and he will forever be remembered as a true jokester, a man who understood the power of a smile. Roberto leaves behind his devoted wife Dolores, who will cherish the memories of their life together. His legacy of laughter and love will live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know him. A service to honor Roberto's life will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, located at 601 E California Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93307. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Roberto's generous spirit. The family of Roberto Rivas would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time. His spirit will continue to bring joy and laughter to all who remember him.
