Roberto Bruns AKA Bobby Buns

February 21, 1915 — February 21, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roberto Bruns, affectionately known to many as "Bobby Buns," on his 111th birthday, February 21, 2026. Born in the bustling town of Ft Hood TC on February 21, 1915, Bobby lived a life filled with unique adventures, extraordinary encounters, and unforgettable melodies that resonated long beyond their final note. Bobby’s life was a tapestry of diverse experiences, woven together by his indomitable spirit and an ever-curious heart. He graduated from a high school in Texas that may not have been renowned, but it laid the foundation for his humor and resilience. He later pursued higher education, earning a degree in a field he fondly described as "worthless," yet it was a stepping stone to fulfilling his dream of becoming an officer, following in the footsteps of his father. His military career was a brief yet colorful chapter, marked by service in the US Army. Bobby’s most memorable moment came not from a battlefield, but from the comic relief of losing laptops assigned to him. He served bravely, culminating in a final, courageous battle with 50 rounds of rocket munitions on the training grounds of Hoenfels, Germany. In April 2025, Bobby married SFC Severson. Together, they navigated the challenges of managing a tank platoon, bringing humor and camaraderie to every mission. Their short but loving marriage was a testament to the power of partnership and shared visions, despite their platoon struggling with the simplest maneuvers. Bobby was predeceased by every transmission in his platoon, a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and his penchant for pushing boundaries. He is survived by his unique collection of musical genres, created with his band “Bobby Buns And The Funky Bunch.” His melodies, though often accompanied by restraining orders, will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have heard them. Bobby was the founder and sole member of the Bobby Buns fan club, a testament to his unwavering self-belief and passion for music. An avid lyrical poet, Bobby never missed an opportunity to serenade complete strangers, sharing his art with an unsuspecting world. Known for his awkward interactions, Bobby possessed an uncanny ability to make people feel uncomfortable, a rare gift that endeared him to many. His life was a series of beautifully awkward moments, strung together by his genuine heart and joyful spirit. As we bid farewell to Bobby Buns, we celebrate a life that was anything but ordinary. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and lyrical wanderings that will continue to inspire and amuse. Rest in melodic peace, Bobby—your symphony plays on.
