In loving memory of Roberto, who was born on December 20, 1939, in the vibrant city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, and passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Roberto's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and an unyielding quest for knowledge—a true testament to the extraordinary spirit he embodied throughout his time with us. A dedicated and cherished partner, Roberto shared 63 blessed years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dolores Rivas. They were united in matrimony on October 31, 1963, in Jalisco, México. Together, they created a family filled with love and warmth, raising ten children in a home built on a foundation of devotion and hard work. Their legacy continues to flourish through their nine surviving children, twenty-one grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren—each carrying forward the enduring values and strength instilled by Roberto. Though he never had the opportunity to attend formal schooling, Roberto's determination led him to self-educate, teaching himself to read and write. This remarkable accomplishment speaks volumes of his character, becoming a beacon of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey from self-education to becoming a man of many talents reflects the gifts with which God endowed him and the perseverance with which he nurtured them. Roberto's life was enriched by his many passions. He found solace in the tranquility of gardening, where his nurturing spirit brought life and color to his surroundings. His skilled hands transformed wood into art, and he delighted in creating jewelry for his family, leaving behind cherished mementos. Yet, it was his journal that held the quiet stories of his heart, capturing the essence of his life in words filled with wisdom, wit, and truth. Known for his remarkable sense of humor, Roberto's legacy as a true jokester will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter and joy for life were as infectious as the love he shared. A celebration of Roberto's life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Green Lawn Cemetery, located at 2739 Panama Ln, Bakersfield, CA 93313. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Roberto's loving and generous spirit. The family would like to share a special message: “Señor, dale descanso eterno a quien amamos y deja que brille para él la luz perpetua. Que encuentre paz en tu presencia y amor en tus brazos. Amén.” Roberto's presence will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family and all who knew him.
