Robert William Irlan October 15, 1946 - It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert William Irlan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on , at the age of 79. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on October 15, 1946, Robert was a beacon of strength, kindness, and inspiration to all who knew him. Robert was the cherished son of the late Helen Irlan and Robert Phillips. He was predeceased by his beloved family members, Lois Cain, Eddie Cain, and Donald Cain, who now welcome him with open arms. He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Robin E. Irlan, who stood by his side through life's many adventures and challenges. Together, they built a beautiful family and life. He was a proud father to Robert (Natasha) Irlan and Stacey Irlan, and a loving stepfather to Andre and Michelle Blakemore. His legacy is further carried on by his five treasured grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Robert was also a beloved brother to his siblings Pauline Mitchell, Roz Nelson, June Cain, Debbie Webster, Nita (Lacey) Brooks, and Perry Cain. Robert's life was marked by a remarkable journey of education and service. He attended Central High School and went on to earn a Master's degree from Walton College, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth. His sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve his country in the Air Force for four years, an experience that instilled in him a deep respect for discipline and camaraderie. In his early years, Robert was an accomplished athlete, playing as a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. Though his promising career was cut short by an injury, Robert's love for the sport and his team never waned. He carried the spirit of the game into all aspects of his life, always striving for excellence and encouraging others to do the same. Beyond his professional and athletic achievements, Robert will be most remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering support for those he loved. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and appreciated, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to organizations dedicated to Parkinson's research or heart health initiatives, causes close to his heart. As we say goodbye to Robert, we remember a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
