Robert William (Bob) Divin

After a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Robert William Divin (Bob) went to join his Lord and Savior in Heaven on August 8, 2026. Bob was born October 15, 1942, to W.A. (Bill) and Francis Divin. He grew up in Wallis, Texas and graduated in 1961 from Wallis High School. He loved sports and participated in every sport offered, but he especially loved football. During his formative years, Bob attended Guardian Angel Catholic Church, faithfully, each week, where he served as an altar server whenever needed. He also attended Guardian Angel Catholic School. He loved playing music, especially polkas and waltzes. He was a band member from 8th grade until about 10 years ago. Some bands he played with were Syl Krenek, Syncopators, Alvin Linart and the Sugarlanders, Dutchmasters and Texas Sound Czech. He played guitar and had a beautiful voice. While playing at a dance, Bob met eyes with the love of his life, Carol. Not too long after, they started a story that lasted an entire lifetime. On October 21, 1962, they married and started their family. Bob worked for and retired from Halliburton after 36 years of service. He worked his way up from the shop to the position of Procurement Manager. He also earned his associate’s degree in business. Bob loved his family with all that he had. He was a devoted and faithful husband for over 63 years, and a supportive and loving father of three. He was a cherished Grandpa and PoPo to his grandchildren. He was an example of selflessness and always had a smile on his face. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He looked forward to each deer season with excitement. He even included his family on many trips where he was able to pass on his hunting tips. He was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Council 2801. Bob also contributed to serving his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He worked as a load master and then later, he worked with the AC and Heating department. Robert is preceded in death by his parents W.A. and Francis Divin, his in-laws Fred and Lydia Warncke, sister Fannie Divin, oldest brother Victor Divin, sister-in-law Bobbie June Divin, and grandson Baby Boy Stavinoha.
