Robert W. Colls

Robert W. "Rob" Colls, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Macon, Georgia, on June 3, 1943, to Robert and Arlene Colls, Rob grew up in Rochester, New York. He was an Eagle Scout, saxophone player, and drag car racing enthusiast who attended Rush-Henrietta High School and Rochester Institute of Technology. Rob went on to enjoy an accomplished 43-year career with Eastman Kodak Company, beginning in tool and die making and eventually serving in international manufacturing management. In Rochester, Rob met his beloved wife, Gloria Joyce Colls, and together they raised four children: Robert Scott Colls (Sue), Todd Joseph Colls (Wendi), Jennifer Anne Popen (Steve), and Shanna Dee Boynton (Matt). Rob was immensely proud of his family and is survived by his nine grandchildren— Bailey, Zach, Mackenzie, Gabe, Madison, Mason, Corban, Corrin, and Lily—five great-grandchildren—Zeke "Bubs," Christopher, Benjamin, Theodore, and Brooke. Rob's passions included boating on Lake Ontario aboard his Sea Ray, family trips to Toronto and the Thousand Islands, and vacations to destinations near and far. Following retirement, Rob and Gloria moved to Cape Charles, Virginia, where they spent the past 19 years building a wonderful life and becoming part of a close-knit community. Never one to sit still, Rob turned his lifelong passion for home projects and renovations into a successful retirement business, helping countless families throughout his community. He was someone people could always count on —with his time, his talents, and a helping hand. Rob will be remembered for his hard work, generosity, humor, determination, and, above all, his love for his family and friends. In his memory, do a Sudoku, have a cup of coffee, gather your family for a clam bake, and enjoy a cinnamon twist from the Corner Bakery-simple things that brought Rob joy. Most importantly, cherish the people you love and make time to be together. Rob will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
