Robert Voorhees
August 16, 1941 — April 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Voorhees, who departed this world peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on August 16, 1941, in the heartland of Ohio, Robert graced the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and unwavering zest for life.
Son to the late Robert and Margaret Voorhees, Robert was a man who cherished family above all. His journey through life was marked by a profound love and devotion to his beloved wife, Margaret Voorhees (née McCall), who preceded him in eternal rest. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a beacon of unity that inspired all who knew them.
A proud alumnus with a bachelor’s degree, Robert balanced his academic pursuits with a deep sense of duty and service, having served honorably as a veteran in the U.S. Army. His commitment to his country was only matched by his dedication to his craft and community.
Robert's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he became the proud owner of several successful restaurants, cafes, and coffee roasting shops. His establishments were not merely places of business but vibrant gathering spots that radiated warmth and hospitality, much like the man himself. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel at home, whether through a perfectly brewed cup of coffee or a meticulously prepared dish. Good food and wine were his passions, and he delighted in sharing these pleasures with those around him.
Outside of his professional life, Robert's passions took him on two wheels across many a scenic route, as he was an avid cyclist who embraced the freedom and tranquility of the open road. He was a traveler at heart, always eager to explore new places, soak in different cultures, and find joy in life's journey. His love for jazz music was a constant soundtrack to his adventures, with its soulful melodies reflecting his own harmonious approach to life.
As we bid farewell to Robert, we remember a life well-lived, a man who touched the hearts of many with his kindness, wisdom, and indomitable spirit. Though he has left this earthly realm, his legacy endures through the memories we hold dear and the lessons of love and generosity he imparted.
Robert Voorhees is survived by a community of friends and loved ones who were blessed to have known him. A celebration of Robert's life will be held, where stories, laughter, and music will honor the remarkable journey he shared with us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to a charity of your choice, or simply raise a glass of good wine in tribute to a life that was as rich and full as any could hope for.
As we reflect on the life of Robert Voorhees, we recognize a man who lived with purpose and passion, leaving an indelible mark on the world and the hearts of those he touched. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
