November 6, 1950 — July 10, 2026

November 6, 1950 - July 10, 2026 It is with profound sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Robert Van Hoy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 10, 2026. Born in Toledo on November 6, 1950, Robert was the beloved son of Robert and Margaret Van Hoy. Robert was a man of great spirit and warmth, known for his kind heart and gentle demeanor. He shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife Sunny, whom he married on March 31, 1973. Together, they spent 53 wonderful years, filled with love, laughter, and resilience through both the good and challenging times. He was a loving father to his children, Bobbie (Clarence), Billy (friend Thelma), and Becky (Wilfredo), each of whom carries forward his legacy of love and strength. Robert's life was further enriched by his 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Robert was predeceased by his beloved daughters Brandi and Brinda, whose memories remained close to his heart throughout his life. He is also survived by his brothers, George, Ronny, and Carl, and his sisters, Phyliss, Juanita, Terry, and Pam, who remember him as a steadfast brother and confidant. A man of simple pleasures, Robert found joy in the little things. He shared countless hours with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often seen playing with his faithful dog, Toto. Robert was an avid fan of NASCAR, delighting in both watching and listening to the races, and he found peace in fishing and the familiar surroundings of the Toledo Speedway. A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at The Wesleyan Church, located at 306 West Maple St. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Robert's memory to a charity of your choice. Robert Van Hoy's legacy is one of love, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
