He was surrounded by the love and support of his family, who will continue to honor his legacy of kindness and creativity.
Born on August 1, 1944, in the warm embrace of Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico, Robert was the cherished son of Lucas and Jaunita Toledo. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his sisters Elsie, Margaret, and Santana, and his brothers Jerome and Joseph, who have welcomed him with open arms into the next life.
Robert graduated from Jemez Valley High School, brimming with curiosity and a sense of adventure. Eager to explore the world beyond, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in Electronic Technology. His journey led him to work with distinguished companies such as Northrup, Hughes Aircraft, Cal Trans, and Motorola, where he left an indelible mark with his dedication and expertise.
In 1966, Robert married the love of his life, Josie Loretto, with whom he shared a beautiful family. Together, they raised three wonderful children and nurtured a home filled with love, laughter, and traditional values. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Joseph and Alyssa, and his great-grandchildren, Autumn Star, Penny Luna, Nova Sky, and Olive Soleil, who brought him immense joy and warmth in his later years.
A man of many talents, Robert was known for his warm smile and kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a gifted artist, expressing his creativity through working with clay to craft exquisite nativity scenes. These pieces, sold in Santa Fe, New Mexico, became treasured collectibles sought after by admirers across the United States and abroad.
Robert's commitment to his cultural heritage was unwavering. He was an active member of the United American Involvement in Los Angeles and found solace and joy in participating in traditional dances and ceremonies in his cherished Jemez Pueblo.
