Robert Timothy Diggs

December 14, 1963 — June 5, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Timothy Diggs on June 5, 2026, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on December 14, 1963, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Robert spent his life bringing joy and warmth to those fortunate enough to know him. He was the beloved son of the late Bobby Diggs and Carol Wyrick-Diggs. Robert was a devoted husband to Nina Diggs, with whom he shared 32 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion, raising five wonderful children: Mia Diggs, Tameeka McNeil, Tirrell Thompson, Nikki Thompson, and Diandra Thompson. Robert cherished his role as a grandfather to four granddaughters, one grandson, and a great-grandson, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. A man of many talents, Robert was known affectionately as the "Black MacGyver." His legendary ability to fix anything with just a stick of bubble gum, a shoestring, and a screwdriver was admired by all. Beyond his mechanical prowess, Robert was a culinary enthusiast, always ready to fill a room with the aroma of a home-cooked meal and his radiant smile. His love for fishing and simple joys in life endeared him to everyone around him. Robert was predeceased by his father, Bobby Diggs; nephews, Jaime and Corey Ward; niece, Chikara Williams; step-daughter, Shavonne Thompson; and grandsons, Jaclint Daniels and King McNeil. He leaves behind his loving mother, Carol Wyrick-Diggs; sisters, Lisa Ward, Vanessa Diggs, Tamara Blanchard and her husband Karl; brother, Scott Ward and his wife Donna; and a host of great family and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Murphy's Law, located at 239 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has gathered to remember Robert and celebrate his remarkable life. Your love, thoughts, and prayers during this time mean more than words can express, and we are deeply thankful for the comfort and support you have shown our family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to a charity of your choice, as a way to honor his generous and loving spirit. Robert Timothy Diggs will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.

Heartfelt Thanks

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has gathered to remember Robert and celebrate his remarkable life. Your love, thoughts, and prayers during this time mean more than words can express, and we are deeply thankful for the comfort and support you have shown our family.

A Guiding Light

A soft and steady glowing light, Steers gently through the darkest night. It does not rush, it does not hide, It simply walks right by your side. When quiet shadows start to grow, It whispers peace you used to know. A gentle warmth, a calm embrace, Restoring breath, restoring grace. It holds the love that stays behind, The sweetest thoughts you carry in mind. And through the storm, until the dawn, It keeps you safe and carries you on. *Robert Timothy Diggs, until we meet again - Love you!
