In Loving Memory

Robert Tatton Mountford Sr.
November 7, 1933 — October 13, 2026
In loving memory of Robert Tatton, who peacefully departed this world on October 13, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on November 7, 1933, in Millinocket, Maine, to Floyd Mountford and Margaret Jewers Smart, Robert was a beacon of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith throughout his 92 years of life.
Robert shared a profound and enduring love with his wife, Mildred (Mim) Ann Rideout. They were united in marriage on February 12, 1952, in their hometown of Millinocket. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey of 74 years, nurturing a family rich in love and spirit. Their union was blessed with five children: Carolyn (Don), Cathy, Scott (Linda), and the late Robert Tatton Mountford Jr. and Steve William Mountford. Robert's legacy continues through his nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, each a cherished testament to his life well-lived.
Robert was known for his infectious enthusiasm and love for sports, which he enjoyed both as a participant and a spectator. Whether it was pool, football, or baseball, he found joy in every game. He also delighted in card games, sharing laughter and camaraderie with family and friends around the table. A man of deep faith, Robert's journey led him from a successful 27-year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance to a new calling as a priest. Ordained on January 7, 1984, he dedicated his life to teaching the Word of God, leaving behind the "insurance business for the assurance business." This led him to his first assignment in Harbour Breton, Newfoundland from 1984 - 1988, the beginning of a long life filled with doing God's work on earth.
Throughout the community, Robert was recognized for his uplifting catchphrase, "Blessed and Highly Favored," a reflection of his optimistic outlook and spiritual grace. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and his words continue to resonate in the hearts of many.
Robert was predeceased by his sons, Robert Tatton Mountford Jr. and Steve William Mountford, and his grandson, Joshua Tatton Carver. Despite these profound losses, his spirit remained resilient, offering hope and strength to his loved ones.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on November 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church in Enterprise, located at 155 Clark Street, Deltona, FL 32725. The family welcomes those who knew and loved Robert to join them in remembrance and prayer.
