It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert T. Masterson, affectionately known to many as "Bob," who peacefully departed this world on April 4, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on October 19, 1929, Bob was a beacon of love, strength, and resilience, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. Bob was born to George and Blanche Masterson, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness that would guide him throughout his life. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dolly, his son, Robert Jr., his grandson, Colin, and his brother, Jack, with whom he shared an inseparable bond. They, along with many others, undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife. A proud veteran, Bob served his country with honor during the Korean War, a testament to his courage and unwavering dedication to the principles of freedom and peace. His service was a defining chapter in his life, shaping him into the steadfast and humble man we all admired. Upon returning home, Bob dedicated 37 remarkable years to his career at Elm Tree Bakery and Miller Electric, where he was known not only for his exceptional work ethic but also for his infectious smile. His colleagues often spoke of his ability to bring joy and a sense of camaraderie to even the busiest of days, and his legacy in the workplace is one of diligence and friendship. Bob's love for his family was the cornerstone of his existence. He is survived by his cherished children, sons Mark and Tim (Tracy), and daughter Barb (Mike), who were the pride and joy of his life. His nurturing spirit extended to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever remember the warmth of his embrace, the wisdom of his stories, and his unwavering belief in their potential. In the community, Bob was a gentle giant, always ready with a helping hand or a kind word. He had an uncanny ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be felt for generations to come. As we celebrate Bob's life, let us be reminded of the incredible impact one person can have on the world. His journey was one marked by love, service, and an unyielding commitment to those he held dear. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire. A memorial service to honor Bob's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, celebrating the remarkable man who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob's memory to a veterans' charity of your choice, paying tribute to his enduring legacy of service and sacrifice. Rest in peace, dear Bob. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you.
