March 2, 1959 — May 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Sammonds, a beloved husband, friend, and community member, who departed this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 67. Robert, affectionately known as Bob, was born on March 2, 1959, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to the late Harry A. Sammonds and Edith Stevens Sammonds. Bob's early years were spent in the nurturing embrace of his family, alongside his siblings Caroline Sepanski, Nancy Park, and Donald E. Sammonds, who have all predeceased him. He was a cherished son and brother, known for his kind heart and steadfast loyalty, traits that he carried with him throughout his life. In 1977, Bob graduated from Rockland High School, setting the stage for a life marked by dedication and achievement. His passion for learning led him to complete his RPA in 1988, a testament to his commitment to personal growth and professional excellence. On May 22, 1983, Bob married the love of his life, Donna Sepeck. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, built on a foundation of mutual respect and unwavering support. Donna was not just his spouse but his best friend and confidante, and together they shared a life full of adventure and cherished memories. Bob was a man of many passions and interests, most notably his love for railroading. He had an uncanny ability to find a train or museum wherever he went, immersing himself in the rich history and intricate world of railways. This enthusiasm for discovery and exploration was a defining feature of his character. A proud and active member of the Harley Owners Group for over 20 years, Bob served in several officer positions supporting the Nashua NH Gate City chapter. His dedication to the Harley community was further exemplified through his volunteer work with the Patriot Guard Riders, where he supported fellow veterans and honored those who served. Bob's love for riding his Harley Davidson took him across the country, where he traveled over 100,000 miles alongside close friends, creating bonds and memories that would last a lifetime. Bob’s life was a journey defined by a spirit of adventure, a commitment to community, and a heart full of love. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him, especially his beloved wife, Donna Sammonds, who survives him. As we celebrate Bob's life, we remember him not only for his accomplishments and passions but for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Robert Sammonds was a beacon of light to those who knew him, and his presence will be deeply missed by all. A gathering to honor Bob's life and legacy will take place at a later date, where friends and family will come together to share stories and celebrate the remarkable journey of a truly extraordinary man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob’s memory to a charity of your choice that supports veterans or railway preservation. Rest in peace, dear Bob, as your journey continues beyond the horizon.
