Robert Richard Clark

May 30, 1929 — September 21, 2026

Robert Richard Clark, known fondly as Bob, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 30, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska, Bob lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family and community. Bob was the cherished son of Frank and Bertha Clark and grew up with a strong sense of family and responsibility. His early years in Omaha laid the foundation for a life characterized by integrity and kindness. After serving his country with honor in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, where he was stationed in France with NATO, Bob pursued his passion for engineering. He graduated from Oklahoma University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, which led him to a fulfilling career at Corning Glass Works. For nearly 30 years, Bob served as a certified quality manager, primarily in the consumer products division. On May 28, 1955, Bob married the love of his life, Doris Mays. Together, they nurtured a loving family with their four children—David, Shelley, Scott, and Brad—and built their home in Oklahoma and later in western New York. Upon retirement, Bob and Doris moved to Blue Eye, Missouri, near Branson, where they embraced a vibrant community life. They delighted in gardening, square dancing, and boating on Table Rock Lake, creating cherished memories with family and friends for over 30 years. Bob’s deep faith was evident in his active participation in the Presbyterian Church. He served as an elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher, and bookkeeper, embodying the spirit of service and community. His quiet steadiness, dry sense of humor, and insightful advice left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Predeceased by his beloved wife Doris, his parents, and sister Betty McGuire, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family: his children David (Jessie), Shelley (Troy), Scott (Stacy), and Brad (Sujata); his sister Dianne; niece Sandy (Clark); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Bob’s life was enriched by his many friendships, which he maintained with warmth and dedication. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Brookdale Senior Living and NHC Rehab and Longterm Care in Johnson City, TN, for their exceptional care and support. A private ceremony will be held to honor Bob’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Johnson City, TN, or St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kimberling City, MO, reflecting Bob's lifelong commitment to his faith and community. Bob's legacy is one of unwavering love, quiet strength, and enduring faith, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
