Born on July 11, 1932, in the heart of Jeanerette, Louisiana, Robert Montgomery Paul, Sr. graced this world with his presence, a beacon of love and strength. On July 10, 2026, just shy of his 94th birthday, Robert left this earthly realm after a sudden illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories.
Robert was the beloved son of Robert and Irene Paul, who preceded him in death, along with his dear sister, Shirley Rochon, and grandsons, Randolph Paul, Jeremy Paul, and RayMicheal Paul, Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Paul, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of life and love. Together, they nurtured a large and loving family, including six sons: Robert (Betty) Paul, Jr., Ronald (Carmela) Paul, Randy (Monique) Paul, Ricky Paul, RayMichael Paul, Sr., and Randolph Paul, as well as two daughters, Wilnell Paul and Crystal Paul. Robert's legacy extends to his three cherished sisters, Rena Mae Fiest, Corrine Hensley, and Connie Weber, who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
In addition to his children, Robert's family tree flourished with 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring love and guidance he generously provided throughout his life. His extended family includes a multitude of nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him as a guiding light.
Robert's life was a tapestry of devotion and kindness, woven together by his unwavering faith and dedication to his family and community. His warm smile, gentle demeanor, and wise counsel were gifts to all who knew him. He was a man of principle, whose actions spoke volumes, and his life served as an example of integrity and compassion.
A service to honor and celebrate Robert's remarkable life will be held on July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, located at 11200 Old Jeanerette Rd. in Jeanerette, Louisiana. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Robert are invited to join in remembrance and prayer.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the hospital staff, physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and caregiving team for the outstanding care and compassion shown to Robert during his time of need. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Robert's memory may consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, a gesture that reflects his generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
