Robert Magdich

June 26, 1946 — August 31, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Magdich, who departed this world on August 31, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on June 26, 1946, in Astoria, New York, Robert lived a life rich in kindness, humor, and dedication. Robert was the beloved son of Andrew and Dorothy Magdich, who predeceased him. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion, shaping the man he would become. He was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Laurie, whose partnership and love were the pillars of his life. Robert proudly served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1968, a period during which he developed a profound sense of duty and camaraderie. His service to his country was a defining chapter that he held dear throughout his life. A man of many passions, Robert found joy in the kitchen, where he expressed his creativity through cooking. His culinary creations were a source of delight for family and friends alike, always prepared with a generous heart and a twinkle in his eye. Known for his dry sense of humor, Robert had the remarkable ability to bring smiles to those around him, even in the most trying times. His wit and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy: his daughter, Valerie, and his brothers, Ronald and Richard. They remember him as a source of strength and laughter, a guiding light whose memory will forever be cherished. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Robert's honor. This gesture would reflect his generous spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others. As we bid farewell to Robert, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, service, and laughter. He will be deeply missed, yet his memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
