Struss Jr., known affectionately as Bob, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and laughter. Born on December 17, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bob's life was a tapestry of meaningful connections and selfless service. Bob was the cherished son of Robert M. Struss Sr. and Mary Struss (Thomas), and brother to the late Rick Struss. He is now reunited with his beloved parents and brother in eternal peace. His memory continues to be a beacon of inspiration for those who survive him, including his devoted children, Robert Struss III, Thomas Struss and his wife Grace, and his daughter Mary Crisante. Bob was the proud grandfather to Deanna Struss, Ryan Struss, Brent Struss, Rebecca Murphy, Chelsea Murphy, Kacy Struss, and Russell Colander, and a loving great-grandfather to Jax and Lily Colaneri. A man of valor and commitment, Bob served his country with distinction. He embarked on his military journey in the Merchant Marines from 1959 to 1966, and further answered the call of duty with the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, serving in Vietnam with the 5th Transportation Company, Heavy Boat Company. His time in service was marked by courage and a steadfast dedication to his fellow servicemen and women. After his military service, Bob carved out a remarkable career at Air Products in Paulsboro, NJ. Over 35 years, he rose through the ranks from a Production Supervisor to the esteemed position of Safety Director, where his leadership and unwavering work ethic left an indelible mark on his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Bob was a cornerstone of his community. He invested time in nurturing the spirit of youth as a little league coach for the Paulsboro Little League and contributed to the educational landscape as a member of the School Board at Paulsboro High School. In his leisure, Bob found joy in fishing and playing golf, pursuits that mirrored his love for the great outdoors and friendly competition. Bob's passion for darts was well-known, and he was a respected member of both the South Jersey English Dart League and the Gibbstown Dart League. His talent on the dartboard was exceptional, once ranking 10th in the world—a testament to his skill and dedication. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fertig Funeral Home, located at 68 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. It will be a gathering to honor a man who lived with integrity, joy, and a profound love for those around him.
