Robert Lee Willams

Robert Lee Williams, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on October 14, 1965, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Robert grew into a man whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Robert was the beloved son of Jim and Catherine Williams, who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his sister, Tracy C. Patterson. Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Tiffany Williams, and his loving children: daughters Sabrina Williams and Janiya Stevens, and sons Devin Christopher and Robert Lee Williams. His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Robert also leaves behind a large extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a network of treasured friends. Robert graduated from Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1978 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering from Winston-Salem State University in 1985. His career as a mechanical engineer at Ford Auto spanned 32 years, during which he was revered not only for his technical acumen but also for his dedication to mentoring young engineers. A cornerstone of his community, Robert was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church for 40 years. His radiant smile and loving nature brightened the lives of all who knew him. Robert had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and feel valued, always ready with a joke to lift spirits and a kindness that endeared him to many. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Robert’s life at a service on August 15, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 1765 Cleveland Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The service will begin at 11:30 PM. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this trying time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to a charity of choice. Robert’s life was a testament to the power of love and laughter, and his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
