It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Tinson, a beloved father, brother, companion, and friend. Robert peacefully departed this world on June 10, 2026, at the age of 83, in the comfort of his home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on January 31, 1943, to Henry and Estella Tinson, Robert's life was a testament to love, dedication, and passion. Growing up in Indianapolis, Robert was a bright and spirited child who attended Crispus Attucks High School, graduating in 1961. With a thirst for knowledge and a passion for learning, he pursued liberal arts at Central Indiana College for a year. Though he didn't complete a formal degree, Robert's love for learning was lifelong, manifesting in his curiosity and engagement with the world around him. In 1964, Robert embarked on a distinguished 40-year career at Indianapolis National Starch, where he was known for his dedication, work ethic, and the camaraderie he shared with colleagues. His retirement in 2004 was both a celebration of his professional achievements and the beginning of a new chapter filled with the joys of family and hobbies. Robert was a passionate bowler and a revered figure in the local bowling community. Known for his skill and sportsmanship, he achieved the remarkable feat of bowling multiple perfect games, earning numerous trophies and accolades. His induction into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2014 was a testament to his talent and the respect he garnered from fellow enthusiasts. Robert's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted father to his sons, Robert Lee Tinson Jr. and John H. Tinson, and cherished the laughter and love of his five great-grandchildren. His bond with his sisters and his cherished companion, Joyce Barnett, along with extended family and friends, brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Preceded in death by his father, Henry Tinson; his brother, Henry Tinson Jr.; and his beloved Levi and Estella Allen, Robert's legacy of kindness and integrity lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His gentle spirit and unwavering strength were a source of inspiration to all. A service in celebration of Robert's life will be held on June 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Stuart Mortuary Chapel, located at 2201 North Illinois Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a remarkable man who touched so many lives with his warmth and generosity. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Robert's name, continuing his legacy of giving and compassion. As we say goodbye to Robert Lee Tinson, we hold his memory in our hearts, grateful for the time we shared and the indelible impact he made on our lives.
