Robert entered into eternal rest on October 4, 2026, in Green Acres in La Plata, Maryland. Robert was raised in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, where he graduated from Brawley High School. Robert eventually made his way to NYC, where he settled and made a life for himself. Throughout Robert's life, he enjoyed activities such as playing guitar and listening to music, oldies but goodies, as he would say. He also loved woodworking, making pictures, and carving art. Robert was a kind, honest, big-hearted family man whom met everyone with a big smile. He worked as a trucker for 20 years and at Janice Department Store in the Bronx, NY, for about 30 years. Robert loved the New York Jets. People who knew Robert knew that he liked to be called Bob, but those close to him called him Pops. He loved spending time with his family. He listened to his music, loved drinking his coffee, and he loved to be outdoors. Today we celebrate the life of our beloved family member. Robert is survived by his son Charles Tillery and daughter-in-law Joyce Tilley of Marbury, MD, Daughter Sharon Tillery, and grandson Kori St.Fleur of Newport News, VA. Robert shared a special bond with his siblings, Georgianna (Munchie) Dowtin of Brooklyn, NY, Corene Griffith of Brooklyn, NY, Betty Tillery(Deceased), Lillie Wilson(Deceased), Curtis (Lil Bruh) Tillery of Brooklyn, NY, Andrew (Peter) Tillery of Smithfield, VA, and William Tillery Jr.(Deceased). God Saw You Were Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so He put his arm around you
and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes. We watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
