March 28, 1948 — May 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness, yet a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Jennings, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend. Robert departed this world peacefully on August 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 78 years old. Born on March 28, 1948, in Madison County, Georgia, to the late Leroy and Ola Jennings, Robert was the embodiment of kindness and grace. His gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone he encountered. A graduate of Madison County High School in 1968, Robert forged a path of dedication and hard work. He devoted 43 years of his life to The University of Georgia, where he worked diligently, including his time at two sorority houses. His commitment and love for the community were evident in his steadfast service. Robert was a man of deep faith and an active member of FairPlay Baptist Church. His devotion to his church community was unparalleled, and he found joy and purpose in taking care of the church yard, ensuring it was always a place of beauty and peace. His love for the Lord was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through every moment with a spirit of humility and compassion. In 1968, Robert married the love of his life, Alma Louise Howard. Their marriage of 58 years was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith. Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Alma Jennings, and their children: Pamela Jennings, Laura Crawford, and Robert Lee Jennings Jr. Though predeceased by his beloved son, Emory Lenord Jennings, Robert’s legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply. Robert’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of community. He was the kindest and sweetest person, always ready with a warm smile, a gentle word, or a helping hand. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those who loved him. As we mourn the loss of Robert, we also celebrate the love, joy, and warmth he brought into our lives. His unwavering faith, compassion, and integrity leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In honoring his life, we find comfort in knowing that Robert is now in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly. A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at FairPlay Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather to remember a man who was truly a gift to all. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robert’s memory to FairPlay Baptist Church, to continue the work and care for the community he so fervently loved. Robert Lee Jennings, a beacon of love and faith, will be deeply missed but forever remembered. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
