Robert Lee Carpenter
July 14, 1939 — October 12, 2026
Robert Lee Carpenter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on July 14, 1939, in Duluth, MN, Robert, affectionately known as Bob, lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and passions.
Bob was the cherished son of Lee Carpenter and Vonnie Ropotar, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his dear parents-in-law, Katherine (Kate) and Adolph Haske, who embraced him as their own. Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Judy (Haske), with whom he shared 65 and a half wonderful years, creating a legacy of love and companionship that will continue to inspire all who knew them.
Together, Bob and Judy raised three remarkable children in Pardeeville, WI: Tony (Tammy) of Happy Jack, AZ; Michael (Jennifer) of Pardeeville, WI; and Bobbi Jo of Montello, WI. Bob was a proud grandfather to Jacob, Jessica, and Nicole (Adam), and a great-grandfather to Blake, Brennan, Bailey, and Elisha (Eli). His family tree also extended through his step-grandchildren, Kim, Christopher, and Ryan, and step-great-grandchildren, Weston, Linley, Maia, Callen, KayLee, Samantha, and Nathan, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
A graduate of New Lisbon High School in 1957, Bob went on to work as a conductor for Milwaukee Railroad, dedicating many years to his career. His passion for trains extended beyond work, as he enjoyed watching them wherever he traveled, a testament to his enduring curiosity and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Bob was known for his great humor, quick wit, and big heart. His love for his family was paramount, and he extended that love to his canine companions, who were always at his side. An avid fisherman, Bob cherished his trips to Canada, where he sought the thrill of catching walleye and northern pike. He found joy in watching baseball, basketball, and football, and spent cherished moments playing cribbage with his sons. His trips to the casino were another favorite pastime, where his laughter and joy were infectious to all who accompanied him.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Bob's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's memory to a charity of choice, celebrating his generous spirit and commitment to giving back.
Robert Lee Carpenter's legacy is one of warmth, humor, and boundless love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
