Born on September 7, 1956, in the vibrant city of Nashville, TN, Robert was the cherished son of the late James L. Ward and Jill Huntley Ward. He shared a special bond with his twin sister, Emily Tyndall, who survives him, along with his beloved daughter, Maegan A. Ward. For over three decades, Robert was devoted to his partner, Donnie Ray Bell, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Robert's early years were marked by a love of learning that led him to pursue a B.A. degree in education. His passion for teaching shone brightly throughout his career as a dedicated Spanish teacher, where he inspired countless students with his enthusiasm and commitment to language and culture. Robert also enjoyed a stint in radio, where his warm voice and engaging personality won him numerous admirers. A man of faith, Robert was a devoted member of the Central United Methodist Church in Asheboro, NC. His deep spirituality and commitment to his church community were evident in every aspect of his life. He found joy and purpose in service, embodying kindness and generosity in all his interactions. In his younger days, Robert was an avid traveler, eager to explore new places and cultures. These adventures enriched his life and provided countless stories that he lovingly shared with family and friends. Robert cherished his family above all else, finding immense joy in their company and creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Ward and Jill Hinkle Ward, whose love and guidance shaped the compassionate man he became. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. The family kindly requests prayers during this difficult time, as they navigate the loss of a truly remarkable man.
