In Loving Memory

Robert L Schwartz
April 13, 1951 — August 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert L. Schwartz on August 1, 2026. Born on April 13, 1951, in Kearney, Nebraska, Robert was the beloved son of Lawrence and Virginia Schwartz. He was a pillar of strength and love for his family and community, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.
Robert graduated from Minden High School in 1969, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with dedication and hard work. He found great joy in his career, spending countless hours driving trucks and farming—professions that he held not just as jobs, but as passions that connected him to the land and the people around him.
In 1993, Robert married the love of his life, Sandra Schwartz, on December 14. Together, they built a life rich in love and shared memories until Sandra's passing. Robert was also preceded in death by his son, Darren Nelson, whose memory he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his daughters, Danelle Nelson of Grand Island, Nebraska, Dani (Levi) Heinrich of Scott City, Kansas, and Rebecca Gray of Lakin, Kansas. Robert's legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Callie and Tyler Collins of Grand Island, Nebraska; Jozzlynn and Jaxson Heinrich of Scott City, Kansas; and Kasen and Korbin Gray of Lakin, Kansas. To Robert, family was everything, and he found immense joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow, excel in sports, and succeed in all their endeavors.
An active member of the First Lutheran Church in Marion, North Dakota, Robert's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a man who found happiness in simple pleasures, none greater than supporting his daughters in rodeo and cheering on all his children in their sporting activities. Above all, his grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took great pride in their achievements.
In honor of Robert's life, a private funeral service will be held for immediate family. Those wishing to remember and celebrate Robert's generous spirit are encouraged to consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart, based in Jacksonville, Florida.
Though Robert has left this world, his spirit remains with us. His kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
