With profound sadness and a deep sense of loss, we announce the passing of Robert L. Ricks (Felton), a beloved father, brother, friend, and cherished member of our community. Robert peacefully departed this world on December 11, 1993, at the age of 51, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on September 22, 1942, in the vibrant neighborhood of Queens, New York, Robert was the beloved son of Charlie Felton and Alberta Ricks-Holley. Growing up in the embrace of a loving family, Robert was shaped by the strength and resilience of his parents and the nurturing spirit of his maternal grandparents, who predeceased him. Robert attended schools in Queens, where he forged lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of community. His educational journey laid a solid foundation for a career as a Chemical Plant Operator, where he was admired for his dedication and unwavering work ethic. Robert's colleagues and friends would often speak of his kindness and the infectious warmth he brought to any room. A true testament to his loving nature, Robert was a devoted father to his five children: Robin, Robert Jr., Juanita, and the twins, Tasia and Taryn. His love for them knew no bounds, and he was a beacon of support and guidance in their lives. As a grandfather to Bashir, Malik, and Khalil, Robert found immense joy and pride in watching them grow, instilling in them the same values of compassion and integrity that he held dear. Robert is survived by his dear friend, Delores Tribbett, who stood by his side through life's many trials and triumphs. He leaves behind three devoted sisters, Sheila Holley-Richardson, Lou Ethel McBride, and Carolyn Smith, as well as two brothers, Carl Felton and Darria Hicks, who will forever cherish the bond they shared. Robert's life was enriched by the love of a host of relatives and friends, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A man of great character and unwavering loyalty, Robert was known for his infectious laughter, gentle spirit, and the kindness he extended to all. His legacy is one of love, generosity, and a life lived with purpose and passion. A celebration of Robert's life will take place on December 17, 1993, at 5:00 PM at WAPLES Funeral Home, located at 822-24 Kaighn Avenue, Camden, N.J. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor the memory of a remarkable man whose spirit will forever live on in our hearts. The family of the late Robert L. Ricks extends their sincere appreciation for the many kind expressions of sympathy extended to them during their hour of bereavement.
