Robert L. Ferguson Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert L. Ferguson Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on September 6, 2026. Born on November 23, 1941, in the vibrant city of Boston, MA, Robert lived a life full of joy, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and community. Robert was the cherished son of the late Roderick and Katherine (Butts) Ferguson, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in their eternal home. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Ferguson (McMorrow), with whom he shared 56 years of love and companionship. Together, they built a family rooted in kindness and joy. He leaves behind his loving children, Robert L. Ferguson Jr. and his wife Joanne of Sagamore Beach, MA, and Bonnie Love and her husband Ryan of Pembroke, MA. His legacy continues through his five adoring grandchildren: Christian, Audrey, Brady, Abigail, and Nolan, who were the pride and joy of his life. Robert grew up in Boston and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1960. Shortly thereafter, he served his country with honor as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1964. Upon returning to civilian life, Robert dedicated 40 years to the auto body parts and paint industry, where his hard work and integrity earned him respect and admiration. Known for his quick wit and famous one-liners, Robert was often the "life of the party." His outgoing personality and wonderful sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a man who loved life – a true Boston sports enthusiast who cherished time spent with his grandchildren and family outings to breakfast. Robert is also survived by his brothers, George Ferguson and Daniel Ferguson, who, along with his family, will forever remember his infectious laughter and the joy he brought into their lives. A service to celebrate Robert's remarkable life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cartmell Davis Funeral Home, located at 373 Court Street, Plymouth, MA 02360. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the man who touched so many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Tommys Place Foundation in Quincy, MA, in memory of Robert L. Ferguson Sr. This gesture would resonate with Robert's spirit of generosity and his desire to make a positive impact on the world. Robert's life was a testament to love, laughter, and a commitment to those he held dear. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
