Robert John "RJ" Jeter

Robert John Jeter, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at his home on July 28, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on June 16, 1959, in Chester, South Carolina, Robert was the beloved son of the late Montgomery Lee and Patricia Ellen Jeter. He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Michael E. Jeter, Terry M. Jeter, and Barbara A. Jeter-Thomas. Robert leaves behind a devoted family, including his loving wife of 45 years, Gracen Choi-Jeter, and his sons, Channin (Brittney), James, and Corey (Reece). He was the proud grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His legacy also extends to numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, including a special family friend, nurse Wendy Brown, who provided comfort and care during his final days. For Robert, life was a series of seasons, much like the crops he tended with care and dedication throughout his career in agriculture. His life's work embodied the values he held dear—faith, honesty, compassion, and service. Known for his gentle spirit and unwavering integrity, Robert's commitment to his family and community was unmatched. Though he has entered into eternal rest, the seeds he planted, both in the land and in the hearts of those who knew him, will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. Robert had a profound respect for nature, viewing it as a testament to life's cycle and the ultimate destination for all living beings. His appreciation for the natural world was evident in his support for natural burial and his desire to live a life marked by simplicity and meaning. In accordance with Robert's final wishes, the family will honor his memory in a private ceremony. They will gather intimately to reflect on the beautiful memories and enduring legacy he leaves behind. While the ceremony is private, friends and family are encouraged to celebrate Robert's life in their own meaningful ways, cherishing the moments shared and the lessons learned from a life well-lived.
