Robert Jesus Garza

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Jesus Garza, a cherished father, brother, and friend, on September 27, 2026. Born in El Salado, Mexico on November 12, 1945, Robert passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love and presence of his family. Robert was the beloved son of the late Ernesto Garza Guzman and Eufemia Gonzalez Herrera. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Jane Christine Garza, his sister Maria Sororro Garza, and his brothers Pedro, Ernesto, Jose, and Raul Garza. He leaves behind his loving fiancé, Linda Rowe, who was a steadfast companion and support in his later years. A proud graduate of Western High School in Detroit, Robert pursued a career that took him across the country, working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Welder. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), where he dedicated his skills and talents to his trade. Robert was a man of many passions, most notably his love for working in his backyard mechanics garage. An expert in his field, he took great joy in building trailers and passing on his knowledge to his son, grandsons, and anyone else eager to learn. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and fiancé, creating memories filled with laughter and love. He is survived by his children Lisa Garza, Leah Garza (Mark), Robert Garza, Arminda Garza, Jennifer Garza, Ernest Haystead, Timothy Haystead (Lisa), and Rebecca Wilson (Robert). His legacy continues through his brother Juan Garza, sister Josefina Jennings, and an abundance of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was known for his strength, his loving nature, and his humor, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. His presence brought warmth and joy to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the One Under Banquet Hall, located at 35720 Five Mile Rd. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Robert's memory, supporting a cause close to his heart. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Angels of Hospice for their compassion and comfort during Robert's transition. Their kindness provided immense solace during this difficult time. Robert Jesus Garza will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and learning will live on in our hearts.
