Robert "Jeff" Hayden, a cherished husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, and esteemed community member, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 70. Jeff was born on June 30, 1955, in the vibrant city of Atlantic City, NJ, where he began a life marked by dedication, service, and love. Jeff was the beloved son of Bob and June Hayden, who predeceased him, along with his cherished twin sons, William and Patrick, whose memories he held close to his heart. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce, whose unwavering companionship was the cornerstone of his life; his sons, Blair, who is married to Tara, and Ross, who both inherited his sense of integrity and spirit of kindness. Jeff was also the proud grandfather to Molly June, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. An alumnus of Holy Spirit High School, Jeff graduated in 1973. He embarked on a long-standing career with Atlantic City Electric, dedicating 37 years to the company in various capacities, where he was admired for his work ethic and camaraderie. Jeff's life was a tapestry woven with threads of community service and leadership. He was an auxiliary member of Calabash VFW Post 7288 and served diligently on the Absecon Board of Education for six years. As a two-time president of the Absecon Jaycees, Jeff was recognized as a JCI Senator—an honor that highlighted his commitment to civic duty. He was also a founding member of the South Jersey Field of Dreams, a cause close to his heart, which reflects his enduring legacy of fostering hope and opportunity. In 1989, Jeff was named the American Legion Post #28 Man of the Year, a testament to his selfless contributions and unwavering dedication to his community. His leadership and passion left an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of working alongside him. After retiring, Jeff found great joy in the serenity of the Brunswick Golf Resort in Calabash, NC, where he cherished the camaraderie and challenge of a round of golf three times a week. His love for the game was only surpassed by his love for the friendships he nurtured on the fairways.
